I don't see what the problem is its like saying you have to pronounce HIGH instead of IGH, don't make the blind bit of difference the song is still the same.
If you added another chorus or changed the tune then it would be another matter.

It would appear the main issue here, is where does the sky start?
They either 'reach the sky' or they 'nearly reach the sky' & until we have some expert opinion regarding the altitude of the beginning of said 'sky' I don't think we should really be deciding the fate of said Bubbles.
That said, my superstition (if it even is one) is that I never EVER clap the UNITED at the end, not any of them, does that make me a cunt too??

I used to get thrown by my keepers into the back of the school Transit with 53 other hardcore Hammers when I was 2. But only in the mornings. At night (about 11pm or so after our waltzing lessons) we obviously had to toddle the 15 miles or so back to our hamlet reciting the complete Kellette/Kenbrovin Tin Pan Alley back catalogue until we were word and note perfect.

The reason we don't sing 'nearly reach the sky', is because it's one syllable too long.
If we sang that line correctly we'd have to sing the words in that line a little bit faster than the line before, or more likely sing the word 'nearly' at twice the speed we sing the word 'they' in the previous line, which quite frankly would be fucking annoying, hence why we sing it wrong

Never sung it wrong ever. Just noticed the thread about WHUChants, and saw that a website dedicated to our chants, had got them wrong. Realised how endemic the error was in our support, so created this thread.
